Insurance Pointers

Become familiar with you medical insurance company. As soon as you know that you are enrolled wait 7 to 10 days to receive your medical identification card. Once received, review the infomation on the card closely. If you have any questions about what the card means, do not hesitate to call the insurance company. The phone number should be on the identification card, along with the appropriate billing address.

Most insurance companies have automated information lines, and most of the time they are not very user friendly. Kind of annoying, but this sometimes does eliminate multiple customer service transfers before you receive the correct department for general questions. If you receive an automated line, speak very clearly, or use your telephone keypad carefully. This may expedite your service a little better.

Stay tuned for future tips!
